# Human Flourishing Accelerationism — Research Notebook

## Question and method

[2026-10-10] Retrospective editorial review: what contribution can the historical literature notes support? Read the four dated reports and citation inventory at base `0b6cd1fa9865605499d0ad11bf96adaf1f26ed68`; inspect selected primary sources and distinguish source coverage, conceptual proposals, and empirical evidence. No external preregistration is claimed.

## Predictions

[2026-10-10] No predictions were registered before this review. Future engineering and human-outcome studies require separate frozen plans.

## Observations

[2026-10-10] The directory contained literature notes and a citation inventory, but no paper manuscript or README at this base. The gate-close report declares novelty confirmed and characterizes Positive Alignment as training/model-specification only. The versioned primary text's §5.3 discusses operational institutions and local-norm enforcement, contradicting that blanket restriction.

## Interpretation

[2026-10-10] Reopen the novelty assessment. A specific translation record, failure analysis, and comparison protocol can be articulated without claiming a first implementation or measured flourishing benefit. New manuscript examples are synthetic reasoning examples, not observations of users or production outcomes.

## Corrections and dead ends

[2026-10-10] Preserve the September reports with supersession notices. Do not reuse their “blue ocean” or first-deployment conclusions as verified findings. The wider discovery bibliography remains to be audited source by source.

## Open questions

- Does the record improve decision reconstruction beyond existing permission and audit systems?
- Which stakeholder judgments can be represented as observable local predicates?
- When does stricter enforcement reduce useful completion or practical control?
- What study could assess human outcomes without treating gate compliance as a proxy for flourishing?

## Follow-up source audit

[2026-10-10] The subsequent inventory audit covered all 35 historical entries: 13 concrete citation/version mismatches, 16 metadata-only resolutions, and six bounded text checks. These categories describe the audit, not scientific validity. The ledger includes nine supplementary records and distinguishes version/concept identifiers. The living related-work section now acknowledges EAF's conceptual constraint translation and governance scope in RoF/FVT. FAR remains only partially resolved. The historical files remain preserved, and no priority or production claim is inferred. See [source audit](../papers/hfa-human-flourishing-accelerationism/source-audit-2026-10-10.md).
